Lorraine Klemens has over 18 years of experience as a law clerk in complex commercial and administrative cases. She assists counsel on all stages of litigation including document collection, discovery, mediation, arbitration and trial. Lorraine has assisted counsel in a number of trial proceedings and has over 400 days of trial experience and successfully assisted counsel with one of the first fully electronic appeals. Specializing in the management of ediscovery cases, Lorraine manages large document intensive files and provides document management support using a variety of software applications, including web-hosted programs. She is a project manager of large files and is responsible for the set-up of review teams, managing timelines and budgets.

Lorraine was the law clerk on the trial of Waxman v. Waxman, a well-known, extensive and factually complex commercial proceeding in Ontario which extended over two calendar years and consumed more than 200 days of trial. The case gave rise to a judgment in excess of $30 million — one of the largest punitive damage awards in Ontario. Lorraine is a member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario and has served on its Board of Directors. She has been at speaker at the Institute of Law Clerks and Advocates’ Society conferences and in-house educational seminars on the Rules of Civil Procedure and eDiscovery.
