One of the biggest challenges organizations face when issuing a legal hold is identifying what data resides with those notified as custodians, and what data resides elsewhere in their systems.

This session will outline important practical considerations that are required when drafting a preservation plan to ensure that you avoid spoliation issues. We’ll show you how to create and execute on a data map in the absence of an end-to-end system and provide an overview of the tools that are available to help you. We’ll discuss how to work most effectively with external counsel to ensure nothing falls between the cracks. Lastly, we will review effective strategies for communicating with custodians in order to gain insight into your data right from the onset.
