As the General Counsel and Director of Legal Services & Risk Management for London Health Sciences Centre, Susan Nickle is responsible for the provision and management of legal services for the hospital, and provides legal and risk management advice to the Board of Directors, the President and CEO, and the senior management team.
Susan has a diverse and relevant professional history. She previously practiced with one of Canada’s leading litigation firms where she gained experience in commercial and medical negligence litigation, and class action proceedings. Most recently, Susan co-founded and practiced law with Wortzman Nickle Professional Corporation, Canada’s first e-discovery and information governance law firm. Prior to entering law, Susan held a variety of positions in the public and private sectors.
Susan is one of the original members of the Sedona Canada Working Group that developed the Canadian national guidelines for e-discovery and is presently the Editor-in-Chief of the Second Edition Principles to be published in 2015. She is also a member of the Ontario e-Discovery Implementation Committee. Susan regularly writes about e-discovery and information governance issues, and has presented at e-discovery and records management conferences across Canada and in the United States.
An avid volunteer, Susan is an executive member of several boards and organizations that support healthcare, the arts, and other philanthropic endeavours in Southwestern Ontario.
