Kate Sokolan joined TELUS in December 2012 as a Litigation Paralegal, after having worked for 10 years at FMC Law (now Dentons) as a Legal Assistant and then a Litigation Support Paralegal. Kate enjoys and appreciates the level of autonomy, variety, and responsibility in she has in her role at TELUS. Among other things, Kate is responsible for managing eDiscovery matters for TELUS, including identifying and interviewing custodians, arranging collection of documents, consulting on projects, project management, and liaising with and supporting internal and external counsel.
In September 2016, Kate (along with others on the TELUS Litigation Team) received recognition by winning an Innovatio Award for Litigation Management in relation to the implementation of creative protocols for managing the discovery process in an enforcement proceeding commenced by the Competition Bureau. Kate also won a TELUS Passion for Growth & Reliability Award for her work on the Competition Bureau case. This award is one of TELUS’ highest accolades and provides prestigious recognition from the CEO to TELUS team members who demonstrate a passion for growth & reliability through exceptional leadership.
Kate recently participated in a full day of build with Habitat for Humanity and makes the most of her time away from the work by spending time with family and friends, doing yoga, writing poetry, going to art galleries and shows, and travelling to foreign countries.
