Michael Power provides legal and consulting services to private and public sector clients on issues related to governance, technology, privacy and information security. He currently serves as Managing Director, Privacy for Valencia IIP Advisors Limited, a privacy and security consultancy based in Toronto and Ottawa.
Mr. Power is the author of The Law of Privacy (2013) as well as the Access to Information and Privacy Title of Halsbury’s Laws of Canada (2005, 2011, 2016). He is also the co-author of the American Bar Association’s Sailing in Dangerous Waters: A Director’s Guide to Data Governance (2004).
Michael Power is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society. He also is a member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
